My Self My Works My Travels My Blog My Music My Friends My Family My Contacts

These are the four Music Bands or Music Groups what ever you may call they are my favorites. Kraftwerk an institution in electronic music. The music that this band created in 60, 70 & 80 were far ahead of their times. Their psychedelic type of rhythm almost mesmerizes a person. A true Guru of trance music. Amongst the new electronic music band or trance music type I prefer The Chemical Brothers. You have to listen to their music to get addicted. Just listen to one with your eyes wide shut and you will never forget what you have just heard. Deep Forest is a legend in itself when it comes to World Music. Their fusions with different langauge, style, genre etc. make this band a true World Music band. The way in which it used African chants in its songs almost makes you feel in the heartland of the dark continent. Hideki Matsutake is more of the unknown musicians who have their own set of followers. This Japanese guy threw a real challenge to the all most all the Western Electronic Music.

Kraftwerk
Kraftwerk
Kraftwerk (German for "power station") is a German musical group that has made significant contributions to the development of experimental, electronic, New Wave, synthpop, and techno music. The classic Kraftwerk sound combines driving electronic percussion and bass lines with catchy synthesized melodies and harmony, accompanied by simple lyrics which are sometimes sung through a vocoder. In the early 1970s the Kraftwerk sound was utterly revolutionary for its time, and it has had a lasting impact across nearly all genres of modern popular music

After years of nearly total obscurity, Kraftwerk began to tour again in the late 1990s, and stated that they were working on new material - though speculation about release dates fell through several times. An announcement by their record company of a July 22, 2003 release also fell through, with the perfectionists delaying again for several weeks. A single from the album, "Tour de France 2003" (a totally new track unrelated to their earlier single "Tour de France"), has received radio airplay.

The Chemical Brothers

Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons
The Chemical Brothers are a Grammy Award winning electronic music duo from England, comprising Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons (occasionally referred to as Chemical Ed and Chemical Tom).

Initially they called themselves "The Dust Brothers", after the noted United States production duo of the same name, but their burgeoning popularity and the threat of legal action from the originals led them to change their name in 1995.

Along with The Prodigy, Fatboy Slim, The Crystal Method and a few other lesser-known acts they were pioneers of the big beat electronic dance genre, and are known for high-quality live sets.

Deep Forest
Eric Mouquet and Michel Sanchez
Deep Forest is a musical group consisting of two French musicians, Eric Mouquet and Michel Sanchez. They compose world music, mixing ethnic with electronic sounds.

They were nominated for a Grammy Award in 1993 for Best World Music Album, and in 1996 they won the Award for the album Boheme. Some of the proceeds from their album sales (over 10 million copies) have been donated to charity.

In the early ’90s, Frenchmen Michel Sanchez and Eric Mouquet wrote the book on ethno-tribal electronica. Their innovative fusion of African Pygmy voices with state-of-the-art rhythms on the smash hit “Sweet Lullaby” remains one of electronica’s defining tracks.

Logic System

Hideki Matsutake
Logic System is a musical project of Hideki Matsutake. Hideki started as an assistant for Isao Tomita in the 70's and is well-known as the sequencer programmer and modular synthesizer operator for the Yellow Magic Orchestra (YMO), but he wasn't a member of YMO. He worked on several of their albums and toured with his huge collection of synths.

He also did sequencing work for numerous technopop albums for other artists, particularily in the early 80's. In 1996 he performed in a big concert event organized by Isao Tomita and was also guest on Towa Tei albums.

On his website is a huge number of MIDI files he released, with some of YMO's original songs.
